Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you might want to know before your first session
In our first session, we get to know each other in a safe and confidential space. You tell me what's on your mind, and together we explore whether and how I can support you. There's no pressure — the session is about finding a good connection. The initial session lasts about 50 minutes and can take place online or at my practice in Berlin.
A session typically lasts 50 minutes. You can find current pricing on my Terms & Conditions page. I also offer packages and reduced rates on an individual basis.
My counseling is a private service and is not billed through statutory health insurance (gesetzliche Krankenkasse). This also means: no data is shared with your insurance — full confidentiality is guaranteed. Private health insurance and supplementary insurance may partially cover the costs depending on your plan. Feel free to ask me and I'll help you clarify.
Psychological counseling supports people facing difficult life situations, decisions, or personal challenges. Psychotherapy goes deeper and addresses mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety disorders, or trauma. As a psychotherapist in training, I offer both — we'll find the right framework together in our first session.
Both. I offer sessions at my practice in Berlin as well as online video sessions. Online sessions are equally effective and give you maximum flexibility — especially if you live outside Berlin or have a busy schedule.
Yes. Multiple scientific meta-analyses show that video-based psychotherapy achieves comparable outcomes to in-person sessions. A 2021 meta-analysis confirms that the difference between video and in-person therapy is negligible. Specifically for systemic therapy, a recent study (2025) also found equivalent results. What matters most is the therapeutic relationship — and that can develop beautifully online, too.
High sensitivity (HSP) affects about 15–20% of the population and can show up as intense sensory perception, deep empathy, quick overstimulation, or a strong need for solitude. There are various online self-tests that can offer a first orientation. In my experience, though, high sensitivity is best understood together in conversation — because everyone experiences it differently.
Short-notice appointments are usually available within a few days. Simply check my online calendar — you can see the next available slots and book right away.
